Welcome back to another edition of the Lore Spotlight, where we take a look at the stories behind everything in Hash Rush.
Last week we departed from the Ernack Heroes and looked at how the Troggs came to be. So, for this week, we’re going to make the jump from the Ernack race and take a look at the Marauders and one of their special creations — the Scrapbot.
So without further ado, let’s get into it!
Before the great Crypto Crystal storm, the Rustarian sector was one of the jewels of the Hermeian galaxy. Using mechanical droids the humans of Rustaria were also able to mine deep into their planet in search of precious gems, what's more, the droids served the humans in their everyday life, assisting them with almost all of their manual labour.
However, the Crypto Crystal Storm came close to destroying everything, life was nearly entirely annihilated, and almost all of the droids were reduced to a smoking pile of rubble. Luckily some of the humans survived and a few droids remained operational.
The remaining operational droids were taken into the deep mines in order to be preserved while the human survivors gathered themselves together. Unfortunately, as time went by most of the droids broke down for lack of maintenance. With the surviving humans still in disarray, the robotic technology was temporarily lost as the humans could not venture into the deep mines and caves due to the everpresent threat of dangerous subterranean creatures and poisonous gases.
Much later, as the scorching heat subsided caused by the Solar flare that was triggered during the Crypto Crystal Storm subsided, the Rustarians, now led by Rick Everrusty ventured back to the surface world.
After gradually rebuilding their settlements, the few surviving engineers began to scavenge materials to rebuild their droids. Though they could not fully recreate what they once had, after a painstakingly long process of trial and error, the first scrapbots where made.
These nifty droids were vital in helping the Rustarians to survive, aiding them in their reconstruction, and hauling heavy resources such as stone and scrap metal from the wild outlands to the safe havens that the Rustaians had built.
