In observance of suicide prevention month, HCA encourages Washingtonians to be there to help prevent suicide. Individuals can be present, supportive, and strong for those who may be going through a difficult time.

Suicide is preventable, and you don’t need special training to prevent it. Everyone can play a role by learning to recognize the warning signs, showing compassion, and offering support.

Suicide prevention communications toolkit

HCA and partner agencies have created a toolkit with resources and messaging regarding suicide prevention. The goal of the toolkit is to provide clarity and common messaging around suicide prevention.

2021 National Recovery Month

National Recovery Month celebrates the gains made by those in recovery, just as we celebrate improvements made by those who are managing other health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, asthma, and heart disease.

Each September, recovery month works to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the emergence of a strong and proud recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and community members across the nation who make recovery in all its forms possible.

The theme for this year’s recovery month is, recovery is for everyone: every person, every family, every community. Learn more on the National Recovery Month website.
