Well, here we are. We’re just shy of three months since this journey with you began. That fine day in mid-December when you dove in and joined the migration to Catalina. The day you realized you too were a special breed and joined the Pod. Or perhaps, you joined us more recently. No matter when you’re here now and we’re fucking glad you’re along for the journey.

The Catalina Whale Mixer was created for all Whales; in life, in business, and in culture. It was created for those who refuse to live within the limitations others set for you, who take risks, work hard, party hard, and live life to the fullest.

The Catalina Whale Mixer is a community, yes. It’s a Non-Fuckwithable Token, yes. However, the grand vision is larger — and it’s time we give you details.

The Catalina Whale Mixer is a web3 global entertainment franchise, created with you and for you.

THE FIRST PROJECT FROM WAGMI BEACH

WAGMI Beach is a web3 native creative technology and entertainment studio developing rich, original IP on the Solana blockchain.

The world of entertainment and media is changing. What has spawned from a community of jpeg collectors, is growing into a new paradigm for how media and entertainment are created, distributed, and consumed. As both entertainment veterans and crypto natives, we’re already seeing these shifts come to fruition industry-wide. Our mission for WAGMI Beach is to lead this wave.

WAGMI Beach is building a web3 Disney for adults, and the Catalina Whales are our Mickey Mouse.

We are partnering with leaders of art, media, and culture to create robust and vibrant worlds, inclusive of digital collectibles, film, television, music, events, merchandise, and metaverse integrations. The Catalina Whale Mixer is the first world, our genesis collection.

THE BLUEPRINT

The Catalina Whale Mixer is a creative universe inclusive of television, music, events, and collectibles.

A universe filled with stories, characters, chapters, and a worldview. Think of the multitude of rich creative universes from our childhood to today…the worlds of Star Wars, Pokémon, South Park, and Marvel.

We are taking a cue from these titans of culture, but with one fundamental difference. Traditionally, these franchises have been created in rooms, in studios, and in meetings by gatekeepers, and then shared with the world to passively consume. We intend to flip the script on passive consumption and build this brand and create this universe together with you, as a community. You are the Whales, and this is your world.

The Catalina Whale Mixer will become a global entertainment franchise by working collaboratively with our community to build properties and creative IPs that live at the center of culture.

WHALE TELEVISION

We’re proud to announce that we have been in conversation with some of the world’s best television writers, animators, and production partners to develop a 30-minute animated episodic adult comedy series in the world of the Catalina Whales.

The Catalina Whale Mixer is coming to television.

The polar ice caps have melted, the Earth’s surface is covered with water and humans are nearly extinct. The elites fled the Earth in space shuttles and now live on Mars in Elon’s colony. The few left behind live on boats as warring tribes of pirates in a new Dark Age. However, under the Earth’s water-y surface there is a new Golden Age being experienced by anthropomorphic whales, who now dominate the planet.

Think South Park meets Silicon Valley for the NFT & crypto generation. We’re thrilled to announce we’ve already reached the late negotiation stages with a world-class Hollywood production studio that sees the Whale’s vision and is excited to be our partner in the development of the series. When the deal is final, we will announce the partnership and next steps (first to the Whales and then to the press). Following the announcement, we will set out to attach A-list talent to help bring the first animated series for and by the web3 community to life. We will create a show unlike any that has been created before us.

Community Auditions

Characters in the series will be cast from you, the Catalina Whales Genesis Collection holders. Imagine your Whale being cast as a main character in the series and elevated to celebrity Whale status. POW 💥

In addition to casting the show from the Genesis Collection, we will launch series specific drops, to expand the world, leading into each season.

Whales Writers Room

The idea with this series is to bring our culture to the center of the global zeitgeist, to tell your stories. The humor and humanity behind your lives, in the world of jpegs and crypto, will be the foundation of the storytelling.

Each writer’s room session will include a group of Diamond Fins holders to join and share their stories. Join us as we bring the world of the Catalina Whale Mixer to life.

WHALE RECORDS

As most of you know, the founders of CWM have worked for the last 15+ years at the heart of the global music industry. Our collective experience includes signing and producing records, managing artists, taking music to market, global touring, founding record labels… and the list goes on. We’ve been at the center of the teams that have built many of the world’s biggest music artists and brands.

Our next mission: turning Whales into global superstars.

We’re in advanced talks with the three major music companies to form a joint venture for the Catalina Whales music vertical. This means we’ll have an elite music team with resources to help create hit records with your Whales front and center. Will it be you?

Some initial ideas on how you’ll be involved:

Community Auditions

Whales from the community will be picked from auditions to form a Whale supergroup. Think of an aquatic-themed Gorillaz, making global party records and touring the world. Our team, and our partners, will work with the chosen Whale holders to ideate, write, produce, and take to market a body of work.

From there, we will work with the community to imagine new original music concepts. Our goal is to create an umbrella of unique music IP, birthed from the world of the Catalina Whales.

The moment we close the deal with our partner, you will know first, followed by a press blitz.

THE ANNUAL CATALINA WHALE MIXER

The 1st Annual Catalina Whale Mixer will be held in Q4 2022 at an undisclosed location in the States. We are currently exploring Catalina Island of course, as well as Miami, and a few other beachside locations. We are working with a world-class event production team to create an event unlike anyone has seen.

Our mission is to host the most exclusive gathering of Whales from the world of NFTs, Web3, and culture.

NEW COLLECTIONS

In 2022, the world of The Catalina Whales will expand with a few special collections. Genesis Catalina Whale holders with Diamond Fins status will be granted guaranteed one for one, early access to all mints (excluding the Riptide limited collection which will be gifted to hackathon winners).

Solana Riptide Hackathon Whales Limited Collection (NOW)

Just announced, in honor of the Solana Hackathon, we will launch an extremely limited collection of 56 Solana Riptide Hackathon Whales to be distributed to the winners of the Solana Hackathon. These will provide the Solana ecosystem’s most exciting new builders with access to the CWM and WAGMI Beach universe, and in turn continue to enhance the quality of our community (as honoraries, Riptide Whales will not be eligible for Whale Television and Whale Music auditions).

Since ancient times Whales have been known to have magical properties. CWM: Beached Whales (July 2022)

Beached Whales will be the second official complete collection of Catalina Whales. The Beached Whales are the Whales that went just a bit too hard at the Mixer. They are the special breed that partied the hardest and now are paying the price. This July we will mint a full collection of Beached Whales.

Your Whale Energy will act as a mint token granting you guaranteed early access to the Beached Whale mint, along with additional perks for Tier 2 and Tier 3 holders.

Catalina Whales, The Animated Series: Season One (Date TBA)

In conjunction with the launch of the Catalina Whales animated series, we will mint a collection of Season One Catalina Whales. Season One Whales, in addition to Genesis Whales, will be eligible for casting in the television show. Mint details to be announced.

THE DIAMOND FINS PORTAL

We’re building a hub for all things Diamond Fins.

What is Diamond Fins?

POW Points

Status within the Diamond Fins ecosystem is achieved by accumulating POW points. Points are determined based on the number of staked Whales, time staked, and community activity. Details on the POW points system will be released with the portal.

Staking

Staking your Whale is the key to receiving POW points and associated Diamond Fins status. The longer you stake your Whale, the more points you receive, and the higher up the leader board you go.

Diamond Fins Leaderboard

A leaderboard ranking the top Diamond Fins holders. Move up the leaderboard to elevate status and access increased rewards.

Activity-Based Status

In addition to staking-based status, you can also earn POW points by engaging the community daily on Twitter and Discord, and various other community activations.

If you were not holding a Whale at the snapshot, hold one from today until the portal launch and you will receive Diamond Fins status. POW points accumulated via snapshot will be backloaded into the portal.

As a Whale, you might as well be out of the water without your drip. The Diamond Fins free merch claim portal goes live next Wednesday, March 23rd. These pieces are available exclusively to Diamond Fins holders that held from snapshot 1 to snapshot 2, and are completely free. Now, it’s time for a simple but important reminder.

Your Whale is your key to WAGMI Beach. More specifically, your Whale is a guaranteed 1/1 mint token for all WAGMI Beach drops, as long as you have Diamond Fins status. Each WAGMI Beach collection will also offer limited free mint tokens to Tier 2 and Tier 3 Diamond Fins.

We will be dropping the WAGMI Beach Mint Calendar in early April, 2022.

Additionally, WAGMI Beach will be hosting private events at major global NFT gatherings. Again, your Catalina Whale is your key to get in. Note that some events will not be large enough to host every Whale. Access will be based on the following criteria:

In order to bring everything on the Blueprint to life, it is critical that we develop a consistent communication cadence with the Whale community. In order to develop a collaborative environment, and ensure that Whales have first access to key news, starting today we launch Whale Wednesdays. Every Wednesday we will do either a Spaces or a Stages (gated for only Whales) for open conversations, alpha drops, talks with guests, and collaboration.

RIGHTS LICENSE

We are granting you a free and clear license to the artwork and likeness of your Catalina Whale.

But what good are commercial rights if you don’t have the connections or means to do anything with them? In everything we do in the Whales universe, our characters will be cast from your NFTs. This means we reserve the right to also use all Whales from the collection.

And hey, if you have the next big idea to build on the backs of your Whale, you are free to do what you like with it! Think BIG. The power is in your fins. We want to see your creativity.
