A playoff expansion only makes sense and it’s pretty much an eventuality. Why does obvious, common sense change seem so difficult in college football?

From the “homer” Ohio State perspective it’s also a little tough to stomach even if I really do understand. I get why Ohio State is on the outside looking in. They knew that their game against Michigan State was a de facto playoff game and they lost.

Still, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where the reigning champ who have lost only one game in two seasons is unable to have a chance to defend their title against a bunch of other one-loss teams.
