Once there was a king with a faithful servant who helped the king in every matter. His servant had a very good family with a wife and a beautiful little boy.

The king was fond of nature and beautiful scenery. One day, he, along with his servant, was visiting the forest. After a while, they heard a lion’s roar. They were afraid of listening to the voice.

The king was shivering and his heart was throbbing. He turned around and found his servant nowhere. He cursed his servant by saying,

“That fool! How dare he do this to me! He is such a coward!”

Fortunately, the king succeeded in reaching his village. The villagers came to the king and asked him what had happened. He replied with rage,

“My servant is a coward. He left me in a lurch in the forest. We felt a lion nearby; instead of saving me, he ran away to save himself. Now, he will have to face the music.”

The villagers were very sad at hearing this news, and cursed his servant who they thought was a courageous man.

As a punishment, he ordered to lock his servant’s wife in a lockup his son to be taken away. Then, he sent some men to search for the servant who had not returned ever since.

A few days later, the servant was found dead in the forest, having his body ripped off. They told the matter to the king and were unable to comprehend the reason for his death.

Then, a sane man said to the king,

“My king, from the facts of things, your servant was the most courageous man in the world. Without taking care of his family, he sacrificed his life for the sake of your life. He was, indeed, a superhero. The king, later, felt regret over his felony and misunderstanding.”

The lesson is that, whatever opinion you form about others is not always true. Your assumption and truth are entirely 2 different things. Other persons may have better qualities than yours. It is a fact that people believe what they listen to and not what they see — sometimes vice-versa. So, don’t be judgmental about others. Everyone is unique with certain qualities — vary person to person.

Appreciate others for what they are. Don’t try to change the world, try to adapt yourself to the circumstances. Life will be better in this way.
