“Dad, why do you have to be at work?”
“Dad, why do you have to be at work? Can you just be home?”
This hits. I know that it comes from a place of love and she just wants her dad home with her all day…
BUT it goes deeper for me. It’s my WHY. It’s what I’m working for with all that I do and all that I build.
I strive for as much presence in my kids lives as possible. To show them hard work, but ALSO the rewards and freedom of that hard work.
Being a cop is hard. That’s why I miss 40+ hours of their week.
Being an entrepreneur is hard. That’s why I’m tired AF most days…
But the reward of building a completely different trajectory for my girls and being as present as I possibly can, for as long as I possibly can; makes it all worth it.
