How do our multitasking abilities develop just by playing?

Greene and Bavelier (2007) noted games as enhancing the player’s attention to detail and “ ignoring distracting stimuli.”

Through immersive gameplay, individuals activate and refine their multitasking skills to complete in-game missions.

These abilities were developed over time.

In Greene and Bavelier’s earlier study in 2003, spending at least an hour a day found an expansion of the field of view to non-players; with this, they developed the ability to quickly process visual information.
