The Hardest Part of Your Life is The Last Battle of Every War
When failure is just a trick of opportunity that sit around the corner
There was a time in my life when everything seemed to fall apart all at once. I felt lost, burdened by a string of failures that I couldn’t even keep track of anymore.
I was overwhelmed and exhausted, not knowing which way to turn. The future was a blur, and the uncertainty of it all felt like a heavy weight on my shoulders.
Then, one day, I came across a small piece of advice that changed everything for me.
When things look bleak is when opportunity sits disguised within defeats
Around this time, I remembered the story of R.U. Darby and his uncle. They had invested in a gold mining operation, convinced they had struck it rich.
They borrowed money for machinery and started digging. But then the vein of gold they were following disappeared.
Despite their best efforts, they couldn’t find more gold. Discouraged, they sold their equipment to a junk man and quit.
But the story didn’t end there. The junk man, curious and determined, consulted a mining engineer. The engineer discovered that Darby and his uncle had stopped digging just three feet away from a major vein of gold.
Then the junk man ultimately became wealthy from that discovery.
Reflecting on that story, I realized the importance of persistence.
Opportunities often come in unexpected forms, disguised as setbacks or defeats. This is the trick of opportunity.
I learned that we never know when our big break is just around the corner. It may be just few steps away from our breakthrough, it might be one step away from where you decide to stop!
