It’s Joe’s House

She turned and was gone

What just happened

I didn’t do it. I knew I didn’t. But there it was. How did it get there? There came a knock at the door. I didn’t want to answer. What if they saw it. They would want to know why.

I don’t know why!

The knock came again. Maybe I can hide. They won’t know I’m here. I’ll get in the closet.

Another knock. I’ll go out the back way. Nobody will know.

The knob turned, in walked a small girl. She walked up to it. Picked up its broken body.

She looked as if right through me and said. “Sorry, I left this here. It won’t happen next time.”

She turned and left as quickly as she came.

Who was she? What did she do? Why was she here? Did this really happen? Will she be back? She left the door open!

What is it

Joe had been living in his new home for about a week now. An adorable simple place. They told him when he bought it to be careful. They told him things happened there. He felt drawn to the place. He didn’t know why but he had to have it.

It was a long commute to work. Kind of tiring. He felt a little drained. He just wanted to rest and relax before bed.
