Onyeka Onwenu, the “Elegant Stallion” Passes On In Lagos, Nigeria
The Nigerian music icon-cum-actress was popular in her hey days.
She was said to have died on Tuesday night at the Reddington Hospital in Lagos after slumping at the birthday party of Mrs Stella Okoli. According to some mainstream media organizations, she had performed on Tuesday night, the 30th of July, 2024 at a private birthday party of her friend and business mogul.
She however slumped after performing at the private birthday event and was rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead.
This piece of sad news however broke in the early morning of Wednesday, the 31st July 2024. She died at age of 72. Ms Onyeka Onwenu popularly known as the “Elegant Stadium” was a rare combination of beauty, brain and voice in addition to her excellent command of the English language.
According to The Guardian newspaper, the veteran singer, actress and songwriter Onyeka Onwenu had collapsed soon after performing at an event at Banana Island, Lagos, Nigeria.
