Poem: Two Years

Two years have passed,

And the nagging of my heart has ceased yet,

But I have made friends who have helped me forget,

Memories, regrets and hope that did not last,

And I have begun to heal from my mind that had sunk within its depth,

And that sadness, although unforgotten, will affect me less,

And soon, I’ll return to myself, not in fragments but as a whole,

With scars to remind me of a past of distress,

as a completion of my soul.
