Should I Weep for My Country or be Entertained Therein?

Don’t ask me about patriotism please.

You cannot love anything more than the owner of that thing. You cannot be “more Catholic than the Pope”, can you?

Better still, can you be more Russian than Putin? Or, can you be more Nigerian than Nigerians?

This should be the standard ambivalence. Should I love my country and die prematurely or hate it and live up to the age of 125 years?🤦

One’s country should be akin to one’s spouse. If you are legally married, you should be in a form of hurry to go home to your spouse expectedly.

Now, let’s overlook what your spouse’s attitude ought to be when you are well gone to a distant destination for some time. Now for you the spouser, not the spousee: if for any reason you are not willing to go back to him/her, what type of spouse are you?

Secondly, who should take the blame? Now the question appears more difficult to answer directly.

The point is this. Why would your country introduce more taxes and levies, and less welfare packages?
