Overrated attention has been paid to many dietary patterns, often driven by commercial interests and celebrity claims. The influence of celebrities is especially significant in this social media era; they often claim that certain diets are the healthiest despite their lack of scientific knowledge.

However, with so many “best diets” out there, we want to know which diet is actually the best.

So, our question is this

What type of diet is actually best for us?

First, let’s take a look at common diets that are claimed to be “the best diet”.

The Common Diet Pattern

Low carb: Focusing on limiting carbohydrate intake.

  • No clear definition or guideline
  • It was a treatment for patients wit type2 diabetes
  • The effect might be attributed to high protein, which increases satiation after a meal
  • Can be effective only in short- and moderate-term (few months to one year)

Low fat: Focusing on limiting fat intake

  • No clear definition or guideline
