Modified Walk-Up Curbside Service Begins March 23rd

Beginning March 23rd the law library will be offering curbside checkouts and returns for customers on foot. Access to the Temple of Justice is currently restricted to pedestrian traffic at designated entrances along the security fencing surrounding the Temple and Legislative Building. New curbside service hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Please call us for alternate checkout and return options if you are unable to approach our building on foot.

Parking on the Capitol Campus is prohibited. Please call us at 360–357–2136 or email us at library.requests@courts.wa.gov for off-campus parking options or if you have additional questions. We hope to expand to full curbside service when the Capitol Campus is again open to car traffic.

Locations marked in red indicate pedestrian entrances through security fencing. Proceed to the area marked with the blue arrow to access curbside service.

This is how our modified curbside service works:

Book checkouts

1. Use our online catalog to browse for books: http://www.courts.wa.gov/library/

2. Call (360–357–2136) or email (library.requests@courts.wa.gov) with book title(s) and contact information. You can also place a hold on books through our catalog.

3. Receive a notification when the book is ready for pickup. Pickup times will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Books will be available for pickup for two weeks.

4. Upon arrival to the Capitol Campus, walk through one of the pedestrian gates in the security fencing to the designated spot in the parking lot at the back of the Temple of Justice. Look for an orange cone with a “Curbside Service” sign.

5. Call 360–357–2136 (printed on sign) and let library staff know you are here for curbside pickup. If you do not have a cell phone, please call 360–357–2136 to set up an appointment.

6. A staff member will arrive with your book(s) on a cart. Please give your name to library staff to confirm that we are giving you the correct materials. Retrieve materials from the cart when it is placed in the designated spot so that staff can maintain social distancing.

Book Returns

1. Returns may be made through curbside service on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m.

2. Upon arrival to the Capitol Campus, walk through one of the pedestrian gates in the security fencing to the designated spot in the parking lot at the back of the Temple of Justice. Look for an orange cone with a “Curbside Service” sign.

3. Call 360–357–2136 (printed on sign) and let library staff know you are here for curbside return. If you do not have a cell phone, please call 360–357–2136 to set up an appointment.

4. A staff member will arrive with a cart. Place materials on the cart when it is placed in the designated spot so that staff can maintain social distancing.
