The Washington State Law Library has moved to a new public catalog. This means that the look and feel of searching for books at our website has changed, but it also means that library staff is using a new system to check books out to you. All of your patron information has moved to our new system. You can do a simple search of the new catalog at our home page or you can find the full featured version here.

Things look a little different than they used to, but we hope you will like some of the new features. With our new system you can:

•Access our public catalog via any mobile device.

•Review current checkouts, renew materials, and place holds online.

•Manage your own privacy settings for reading and search history.

•Select and change check out and holds notification preferences.

•Make purchase suggestions online.

•Create, manage, and share lists of your favorite books.

If you have borrowed materials from us in the past, to take advantage of some of these features you will need to set up a password for your account. You can do this using the Forgot Your Password? feature on the My Account page. Instructions for doing this can be found here. If you are a brand new borrower you can set up an account by clicking on the Registration Form link at the bottom of the My Account page. Once you have filled out the form with your information you need to type in the unique verification code to proceed with your registration. If you have problems with the registration form, accessing your existing account, or if you would like us to set up a password for you please contact us at 360–357–2136.

You will get a unique verification code to input when you register for your library account

Searching our new catalog is simple. Enter a keyword, title, or author in the large search box for a simple search. There is a drop down menu to the left of the search box with basic search options. If you want a higher precision search, then choose the Advanced search link to search more than one field or perform Boolean searching. Results lists can be refined using the facets in the left margin.

Logging in to your account will allow you to create lists and place holds in the catalog. You can also customize when and how you receive notifications of due dates and holds for pickup. For additional information on searching the catalog and using its additional features you can watch instructional tutorials here or check out our Getting the Most Out of Our New Catalog blog post.

If you have any questions about our new catalog please reach out to us by phone at 360–357–2136 or by email at library.requests@courts.wa.gov. (SC)
