Walks around Shanghai: DingXiang garden

Dingxiang garden is a beautiful mix of western and Chinese culture, tucked away in a quiet corner of the former french concession. The garden contains a english style villa, a chinese garden with an impressive dragon wall, and a Cantonese restaurant with a good, yet pricey, reputation.

I usually stroll through the premises whenever I happen to pass by the area — enjoying a brief respite from the urban jungle — yet I wish that the heart of the Chinese style garden wasn’t off limit.

The beginning of our “dragon wall”.
The english style villa.
The Cantonese restaurant.
My favorite sight: the dragon head.
The Chinese garden itself is off-limit, such a pity!
If anyone can identify the origin of this statue, please let me know.
