Why fewer tourists visit the US, and more Americans want to leave…
I have been seeing travel warnings and advisories for tourists who are going to the US, which is the place where I grew up and lived until a year ago.
There’s been a lot happening within the US government and it’s difficult to follow all of the different things that are occurring. From what I can tell, there are a few different reasons why other countries are warning their citizens not to travel to the United States.
One CNN story put most of the blame on the tariffs that the Trump administration has enacted against various countries. From reading the comments on various YouTube videos it seems that Canadians aren’t just angry about the tariffs, but they also resent the suggestion that Canada can become the 51st state of the US. They are also now scared of the stories coming out from the border of people being detained without explanation.
A British person commented that he’s not going because he doesn’t think he can afford the cost of food and groceries in the US. There are reports that Canadian airlines have cancelled their flights to some US destinations. People in Australia are saying that the tourism providers there are offering 40% discount on travel to the US to try increase…
