The Gift of a Simple Life
The unexpected abundance of simplicity…
For the longest time, I thought a good life meant having more — more money, more things, more success. But the more I chased, the more I felt like something was missing.
What I never realized is that simplicity would give me more than I ever expected. And in that simplicity, I found gratitude.
Somewhere along the way, we were told that a better life meant bigger, faster and more. But all that chasing is exhausting.
Living simply isn’t about having less, it’s about noticing more — more time, more presence and more gratitude for what we already have. I learned to have gratitude for the small joys in life and for the moments that I had once overlooked.
A simple blessing for me is cooking a homemade meal instead of rushing through fast food. It feels like taking care of what I have instead of always replacing things. It’s thrifting for home decor and waiting to finish a space until I find something I love.
Somehow, in choosing less rush, less distraction, less of what doesn’t matter, I found more of what does. I found more appreciation for the things I already have and a deeper sense of gratitude for life unfolding in front of me.
