Have you ever found yourself at a party looking for pets to interact with? Ormaybe you’ve sat through a team meeting silently counting the minutes until you could retreat to a blissful people-free zone. Maybe you’ve excused yourself from a loud conversation claiming you need to refill your drink, only to hide in the kitchen.
If so, read on because I’ve researched the reasons why it’s ok NOT to be a people person.
This year, I decided to lean into authenticity and being unapologetically myself. I really think the world needs more of us just showing up as we truly are.
There are a lot of people out there who can’t tolerate people’s differing opinions or personalities. We can’t all fit into everyone’s world, but when you show up as your true self, you attract the people who get you — your ‘tribe’ if you will. Those are the connections that matter.
