Wallet of the Week: Ambire
Taking your first steps into web3 can be overwhelming, with a plethora of wallet choices at your fingertips. In our “Wallet of the Week” series, we put the spotlight on one wallet and share why we think they’re worth checking out.
Three reasons why we think Ambire is fire
Ambire is an open-source, self-custodial, smart contract wallet that is entirely focused on improving crypto UX. Currently available via internet browser (with other options coming soon), Ambire lets you easily explore 12 EVM chains and roll-ups, and do the following.
- Keep your funds secure with 2FA and hardware wallet support: Not only are the smart contracts that underpin Ambire open-source, but you can also use Ambire with Ledger, Trezor, and GridPlus hardware wallets (you can learn how to set this up here). Moreover, email/password authentication is accompanied by upgradable security and account recovery options, as well as protection against sandwiching and frontrunning.
- Take advantage of several gas fee optimization features: With Ambire, you can dive into web3 straight from your dashboard thanks to a direct connection with dapps. Plus, you can pay for your gas fees in stablecoins or the ERC-20 token of your choice, saving you from having to dip into your ETH reserves. You can also batch transactions, switch between L1 and L2 networks via a built-in bridge, and explore yield products.
- Get rewards for using Ambire: Ambire is governed by its native WALLET token, which offers rewards to early adopters based on account activity. Read more about it here.
What’s next?
2023 is angling up to be a big year for Ambire. Not only are there native iOS and Android wallet apps in the cards, but there’s a browser extension version incoming as well.
