Walters Homes to Participate in Summer House Tour on Long Beach Island

Walters Home to be featured on house tour

This summer, Walters Homes is proud to participate in a long-standing tradition on Long Beach Island — the 51st Annual Seashore Open House Tour to be held on Wednesday, August 2nd. Chair members from the Long Beach Island Foundation of Arts and Sciences (LBIF) selected six unique beach homes, stretching from Surf City to Loveladies. Proceeds from the tour support the LBIF’s funding for their programs because they are a non-profit organization, and this is their biggest fundraiser.

Six beach houses, situated along the northern part of the island, were chosen by a committee for their architecture, style, landscaping, interior décor and/or sustainable construction. We’re proud that among these is a custom-built beach house by Walters Homes and designed by Craig W. Brearley AIA Architect.

In addition to being ENERGY STAR® constructed, the house is distinctively designed to emphasize summer living at the Jersey Shore. The airy and open floor plan allows light and ventilation to flow through the house while creating natural gathering places such as a large great room and family room. The multi-level house is elevated on pilings 9 feet above the Base Flood Elevation and offers 2,474 square feet of sprawling living space, featuring five bedrooms and three decks with ocean views.

The Walters built house is identified as House #5 in the self-guided walking tour brochure supplied by the LBIF, and is located in the small community of North Beach. The numbers are assigned geographically from the north end of the island to the southernmost house, making it easier for attendees to walk at their own pace.

Preview Brunch, Self-Guided Tour

Participants are invited to walk through each home wearing only socks and will be available for purchase if needed. Maps and brochures providing details on each space will be available the morning of the tour at the LBIF headquarters located at 120 Long Beach Blvd., Loveladies, N.J.

The Summer House Tour commences on Sunday morning, July 30 at 11 a.m. with a complimentary preview brunch at LBIF headquarters located at 120 Long Beach Blvd., Loveladies, N.J. The brunch is free and open to the public. The self-guided tour of the houses begins on Wednesday, August 2nd and runs from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Preregistration is $40; the day of it will be $45. Only 1,000 tickets will be sold. For more information about the tour, or to learn more about the LBIF, please visit www.lbifoundation.org.
