Meet the Office. Episode 2. Viorel
Here’s the next chapter of the series on our blog called “Meet the Office”.
Time to bring some light on the people behind the scenes.
Guess who is here?
Our second guest, the Backend Developer, Viorel!
NAME — Viorel Dinica
POSITION — Backend Developer
SHORT BACKGROUND
Started programming in order to create video games. I found web development along the way and I was so impressed with all the things you could do on the web that I chose to walk this path for my career.
At the very beginning, I had an internship at IBM, after that I worked for about 3 years at a startup company that had its main activity on online gambling. Here’s where I learned how to apply my programming skills in the wild.
Currently, I am part of the WAM team as a backend developer, which means I got your back guys.
- How do you like to start your workday?
I always like to start by setting the mood for a productive workday: choosing the right music playlist, making sure the room I work in has enough light and a big sip of coffee.
- What’s one thing that surprised you about working at WAM?
That would definitely be the colleagues. Everyone is just so reliable and open minded.
- What’s a work lesson you’ve had to learn the hard way?
While there have been many lessons, I think staying focused is one of the most important.
- What was your favorite TV show growing up?
Definitely Power Rangers, haha.
- What superhero/villain would make the best therapist?
Deadpool.
- If you had to relocate, where would you love to live?
Any place near the Mediterranean Sea.
- If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Garlic bread for sure.
- Where do you most want to visit in the world?
The samurai culture is really fascinating to me so that currently makes Japan the choice.
- If you could bring back any fashion trend, what would it be?
I would bring back the 60’s looks and style because back then is where things started to get really colorful.
- What’s your favorite material possession?
Since music plays a very important role for my well-being, my favorite material possession would be my noise-canceling earphones.
