Gbemisola Esho wins U.S. Embassy Social Media Challenge against Sextortion

WanaData member Gbemisola Esho on February 13, won the social media challenge against Sextortion and Online Sexual Abuse by Devatop Centre for Africa Development. The challenge was in line with commemorating the 2023 National Human Trafficking Awareness month.
The initiative was a partnership between Devatop Centre for Africa Development and the United States Embassy in Nigeria. The entities made a call on all Nigerians to lend a voice in the fight against Sextortion and Online Sexual Abuse.
Esho stated that Code for Africa, through various programmes, contributed to her emerging among winners. According to Esho:
“My participation in different sessions online and digital safety contributed a lot to this, such as the latest Jigsaw initiative. Coupled with the training I received in a WikiForHumanRights campaign against human trafficking, further training and research from CfA and Grid Arendal was another contributing factor”.
