- Congratulations to WanaData Nigeria member, Lady Ejiro Umukoro whose book, ‘Distortion’, has been endorsed by the Ministry of Education in the Delta state of Nigeria. Distortion is listed on the recommended textbooks for senior secondary schools, for literature in English.

The Resilience Fund is accepting applications for the 2024 Resilience Fellowship. 2. Oceans Reporting Fellowship
The Pulitzer Center is accepting applications for the 2024–2025 Ocean Reporting Fellowships.
The Ocean Reporting Network (ORN) is a fellowship programme that gives professional journalists the opportunity to spend a whole year working on an in-depth or investigative ocean story. The full-time, year-long Fellowships will cover reporters’ salaries and provide additional reporting expenses.

4. Call for Proposals: RISE Grants Challenge
The Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Environments (RISE) grants challenge is a first-of-its-kind grant fund that supports activities designed to address gender-based violence and environmental linkages in environmental and climate-related programmes and produce knowledge on promising interventions. 5. Call for Proposals for RightsCon 2025
RightsCon is inviting applications for the 2025 RightsCon summit in Taipei. Each year, RightsCon convenes business leaders, policy makers, general counsels, government representatives, technologists, academics, journalists, and human rights advocates from around the world to tackle pressing issues at the intersection of human rights and technology.

6. Open call for funding proposals
The International Fund has launched an open call for funding proposals and announced its commitment of at least $5 million USD to support independent news publishers to sustain, expand, or deepen engagement with the communities they serve. This opportunity is open to global independent media in low and middle income countries.

7. Pulitzer Center offers global reporting grants
The Pulitzer Center’s global reporting grants support in-depth, high-impact reporting on critical issues that are often overlooked in the media, from global health to climate change. The global reporting grants awards between $5,000 and $10,000 for international travel. Grants are open to reporters, photographers, radio/audio journalists, television/video journalists, and documentary filmmakers across the world.

The iMEdD International Journalism Forum is a three-day event that delves into crucial topics including press freedom, artificial intelligence, data journalism, reporting on the climate crisis, corruption, war, and innovative sustainability schemes to promote media independence. The aim of the event is to equip participants with enhanced knowledge, broader networks, and renewed inspiration to implement new ideas and practices in their professional pursuits.

- IPI accueille le Congrès mondial des journalistes [Monde]:Les journalistes du monde entier peuvent participer à un événement sur l’innovation dans les médias à Sarajevo.
L’Institut international de la presse (IIP) organise le congrès mondial 2024 et le festival de l’innovation dans les médias sur le thème “Naviguer dans les crises : Le journalisme à un tournant”. Il s’agit d’un événement conçu pour rassembler les journalistes afin d’explorer de
nouvelles solutions, de favoriser la compréhension et d’examiner d’un œil critique le rôle des médias dans la gestion des grandes crises de notre époque.
