Wanchain Bridge Node upgrade coming on January 10th

The Wanchain team is happy to announce that there will be a Bridge Node (Storeman) agent upgrade on January 10th, 2024! This upgrade significantly enhances the throughput of cross-chain transactions while further strengthening Wanchain’s industry-best cross-chain security. The specific improvements include:

• an increase in the number of transactions that can processed per minute;
• a decrease in the time needed to process queued transactions;
• an increase in Wanchain’s secure multi-party computation (MPC) mechanism’s signing speed; and
• an increase in Wanchain’s cross-chain infrastructure robustness.

This upgrade will take place at 3:00 AM UTC, January 10th, 2024.

What regular users need to do

As with all Wanchain network upgrades, the only thing you need to do is plan ahead! While Wanchain’s Bridge node operators update their nodes, cross-chain transactions may be unavailable. Please keep an eye on Wanchain’s official Twitter account for up-to-date announcements.

What Bridge Node operators need to do

Bridge Node operators must upgrade to Agent version 3.17.0 as soon as possible (after 3:00 UTC, January 10th, 2024). The Wanchain team has once again prepared a simple update script to make the process as smooth as possible.

The update script is:

cd ~/osm/
./startStoremanV5.sh

As a reminder, Bridge Node operators that fail to upgrade their nodes in a timely manner will not be able to perform and verify cross-chain transactions.
