Wanchain confirms that they will attend the World Blockchain Conference held in Wuzhen from June 29th to 30th and plans to release important information related to the Wanchain Mainnet 2.0 Launch and the Wanchain ecosystem.
Since the initial inception of blockchain technology there have been a myriad of different chains — Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple and many others — many of which have independently developed their own valuable ecosystems. However, they are currently isolated from each other and interoperability between blockchains is a serious problem. Lack of interoperability has impeded innovation and the creation of value in the blockchain space.
The realization of fully functional interoperability and the smooth transfer of value between blockchains will be an important milestone for the future development of the blockchain industry. It is vital to the future of cooperation and consensus within the industry.
Cross-chain technology is to blockchain just as TCP/IP was to the early internet. In the first days of the internet, there were a number of independently scattered intranets. It wasn’t until foundational communication protocols such as TCP/IP were developed that these isolated networks were connected to form the globally connected internet we know and use today. The implementation of cross-chain technology will be just as transformative for the blockchain industry as TCP/IP was to the early internet.
Since Blockstream first proposed the concept, sidechains have been the key focus of research for cross-chain technology. However, there is currently no universally recognized cross-chain mechanism. This is due largely to the technical difficulties involved. At present, there are several institutions engaged in cross-chain technology research including Polkadot, Cosmos, and Wanchain.
Wanchain is a foundational cross-chain public chain project that aims to overcome the obstacles of chain to chain interoperability through the use of multi-party computing, threshold keysharing, joint anchoring schemes, cross-chain account locking mechanisms, and distributed key management. Through the use of these foundational technologies, Wanchain will link different blockchain networks, allowing for the free circulation of multiple digital assets from disparate blockchains within the Wanchain network.
Wanchain uses one time accounts and ring signatures to protect the privacy of tokens issued by smart contracts. Both of these privacy features have been implemented since the release of the Mainnet 1.0 on January 18 2018.
Wanchain has come a long way since the release of its Alpha and Beta Testnets, and the Wanchain Mainnet 2.0 has now entered the countdown phase! This version of the network includes the core cross-chain functionality which will initially be able to complete cross-chain transactions with Ethereum. Cross-chain transactions with BTC are planned for the end of this year along with one or two Ethereum ERC20 tokens.

It is also the source of many world renowned web related technological innovations and developments. Since Wuzhen became the permanent site of the World Internet Conference in 2014, this ancient town to the south of the Yangtze River has been indelibly linked with the internet and technological innovation.
The World Blockchain Conference in Wuzhen is hosted by 8btc.com, and will be welcoming many domestic and foreign industry leaders, experts, and investors. By bringing all these voices together, this event will be China’s version of the annual Consensus conference in New York City. Wanchain, as the co-organizer, will also be bringing their team to attend the conference and will be sharing important information relating to recent developments in the Wanchain ecosystem such as the Mainnet 2.0, the implementation of cross-chain technology, WanLabs, WanEco and some of our other “to be announced” entities.
After the earlier event on June the 29th, Wanchain has also organized another special evening event: “WANderful Night.” This is an occasion to celebrate Wanchain’s Mainnet 2.0, and to highlight the strategic development of Wanchain’s ecosystem. The event will be held at Tongnan National Music Hall. Community and industry supporters have been invited to join. This is an event which will be well worth the wait!
