We‘re always working on smoothing out rough edges as well as moving forward with new features on Wanderlust Society. Here’s a quick round-up of recent updates.

Google Sign-in

A popular request from users is the ability to use alternate methods to sign-in to create a new account. We’ve added Sign in with Google recently so you can now use your Google identity to create a Wanderlust Society account. As a reminder, your passwords stay private to you, we do not save nor have access to your passwords. We do save your email so if you use the same email for Google and Facebook, you can sign-in to Wanderlust Society using either.

My Saves

We’ve replaced your Want to Go and Been There lists with a single new area called My Saves. You can find My Saves in the top navigation displaying a total count for all your Want to Go and Been There activity. You now have a single place to see all of your saves on Wanderlust Society. Don’t forget, you can filter your My Saves list by location (country or US State) or by tag (Attraction, Eat, Sleep, etc). Filters are a particularly powerful way to slice and dice your save activity without having to formally organize ideas into Trips. Look for the Filter link at the top of your My Saves list.

Mobile Maps

As part of migrating more of the site to Google Maps, mobile maps on Wanderlust Society have become easier to use. When you’re on your phone and switch to Map view within a Trip, you can now single tap pins to turn on and off a label for each of your Want to Go and Been There saves. This makes it super quick to scan your trip list without having to open and close idea detail pages for each pin you tap. It’s a small enhancement but makes maps much more useful on-the-go.

Email Notifications

We have an experimental feature we’ve turned on for all beta users. When someone on Wanderlust Society recommends or comments on any of your ideas, we’ll send you an email notification about which user and which of your ideas they interacted with. We thought it would be fun for Wanderlusters to see when their saves get activity from other users in the Society. It’s a direct way to see how your planing helps others plan their trips. It’s simple to turn on or off email notifications. Just visit your Profile on Wanderlust Society or click Unsubscribe from any emails. Let us know at hello@wanderlustsociety.co if you’d like to see any other types of Society activity notifications.
