Last month we opened up the Wanderlust Society beta to the public. The early beta is focused on allowing people to easily save their travel ideas and organize them into trips. Currently, users have to be on the Wanderlust Society website to save idea locations. With this month’s release we added the option for users to save travel ideas to Wanderlust Society from anywhere on the web, directly from their web browser.

How it works

After installing the Wanderlust Society Chrome browser extension, just visit any webpage and click the Wanderlust browser button next to your browser URL bar.

Wanderlust Society browser button

A window will pop-up asking you to:

  • Pick an image
  • Select a location
  • Choose a trip

Your selections and webpage link will then automatically get saved to Wanderlust Society as a new idea card. For users who want to attach extra information to their saved ideas, they can also add a public comment or private note. Tagging ideas is available too.

Here’s a quick screencast for how someone might save a webpage as a itineary idea to a Wanderlust Society trip list.

For now, the Wanderlust Society extension is only available for Google Chrome. Other web browsers may be added in the future. Let us know how the extension is working for you at: hello@wanderlustsociety.co
