1. Alappuzha /Alleppey

Alappuzha (or Alleppey) is best known for the houseboat cruises along the rustic Kerala backwaters. Network of canals will give you a feel of Venice. The annual event here have a Punnamada Lake’s snake boat races which is well known through out the country.

Kumarakom bird sancuary (near allepy) 35 km

Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary (Kottayam district ) is situated at Kumarakom, on the banks of Vembanad Lake. Set in the Kerala Backwaters the bird sanctuary is a favorite haunt of migratory birds. A visit to the bird sanctuary, set within the lush acres of wooded land nearby, acquaints you to the variety of migratory birds that flock in thousands, some from the Himalayas, some even from as far as Siberia.

2. Kochi

Kochi (also known as Cochin) has been a port since 1341, when a flood carved out its harbor and opened it to Arab, Chinese and European merchants. Sites reflecting those influences include Fort Kochi, a settlement with tiled colonial bungalows and diverse houses of worship. Cantilevered Chinese fishing nets, typical of Kochi, have been in use for centuries.

Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary (50 km from Munnar)

The Sanctuary is located in the Idukki district. It is one of twelve wildlife sanctuaries among the protected areas of Kerala. It is a well known repository of medicinal plants and supports a healthy population of grizzled giant squirrel, star tortoise, tufted grey langur, gaur, spotted deer, slender loris, wild elephant, crocodile, tiger, leopard and many a birds, insects and plants.

It is the highest peak in the Western Ghats and South India,The Anamudi peak is famous for trekking expedition in Munnar. The peak is 2,695 metres elevated above the ground.

Vagamon (100km from Munnar)

Vagamon or Wagamon is a hill station located in Kottayam-Idukki district of Kerala. Vagamon has an overtone of greenery with a never-ending line of lush green hills, breathtaking ravines and meandering rivulets. A perfect tourist place situated 1200 meters above the sea level.

Thekkady (90 km from Munnar) (Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary)

The splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar River adds to the charm of the park. 4. Wayanad

5. Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram (or Trivandrum) is the capital f Kerela. It’s also home to Kuthira Malika (or Puthen Malika) Palace, adorned with carved horses and displaying collections related to the Travancore royal family. It is located at the South Western tip of India, is bounded by the Arabian sea on the West and Tamil Nadu on the East.

7. Kozhikode

Vasco da Gama landed here in 1498, Kozhikode is close to Kappad Beach and a significant spice trade center. The central Kozhikode Beach, overlooked by an old lighthouse, is a popular spot for watching the sunset. Inland, tree-lined Mananchira Square, with its musical fountain, surrounds the massive Mananchira Tank, an artificial pond.
