North Eastern Summer RV trip 2017

Trip Stats: 3,300 miles, 11 stops, 30 days, Mid-June to Mid July

A view of the Green Mountains

See the Trip Route here:

Trip Route — if you click on the destinations you should be able to see some photos from that stop

Most Memorable Experience:
Biking the carriage trails in Acadia National Park and the St. Lawrence river cruise were my favorites.

Surprises and Unexpected:
Canadian camping is different — you just park your trailer wherever you want — many are radio-free and most campers have no garish outside lights. Tolls in the Northeast are killer — consider getting an EasyPass before you travel.

Favorite Stops:
Maine, Vermont, Thousand Islands

Interesting Tidbits
Here are some interesting things we saw along the way.

This was in action at Hadley Point campground but we also heard about these in larger form in Canada — people just have their tanks pumped by a third party so they can stay longer or just so they don’t have to deal with it themselves.
Cool idea seen in Maine — electric bike and custom kayak trailer
We encountered Sheetz gas stations in West Virginia and Maryland — even into Kentucky. These are like QuickTrips but better — more fresh food and a shake machine!
This rest stop in Kentucky had a dump station — wish every state did this!
