Register your EOS key fast & easy with Wannabit Wallet!

If you own EOS tokens, you must register your EOS public key before 2018 June 1st.

When the EOS platform is launched, you will get the equal amount of EOS tokens that you hold in your Ethereum wallet. However, this does not happen automatically. You will need to register your EOS public key in order to receive EOS tokens after main net launch and also claim your EOS airdrops.

Why do I need to ‘register my EOS key’ when I have my EOS tokens in my ETH wallet already?

  • EOS does not have a main net yet. The current EOS tokens are ERC20 tokens on the Ethereum chain.
  • You will be given actual EOS tokens proportional to the ERC20 EOS tokens on main net launch.
  • EOS has been running an ICO for the past year, and it will end on June 1st 22:59:59 UTC. 23 hours after the ICO ends, all ERC20 EOS tokens will be locked and you will not be able to transfer them.
  • You must register your EOS public key before the token lock date on June 1st.
  • If you already have tokens in an exchange, it’s easy to think that the exchange will automatically claim the EOS tokens and airdrop tokens for you. However, this is not guaranteed as some exchanges may not support the token swap, get hacked, or disappear(in the worst scenario).
  • You do not automatically have the right to claim your EOS tokens if you simply keep your tokens in an exchange.
  • Some exchanges do support it, but you cannot be sure that you receive all the airdrops. You must register your public key on your own Ethereum address.

You can find a guide on how to register your EOS public key using Metamask, MyEtherWallet, or Mist on the official EOS address, but this process can be difficult and complicated for some users.

In order to claim your EOS tokens, you need to register your key. This means that you must register your EOS public key that you generated from the eos.io website on the Ethereum address that you hold your EOS tokens in.
