Decentralized
As a decentralized mobile wallet, you can begin using Ringo Wallet by simply creating a new wallet by one of three options:
1) Generating new mnemonics
2) Restoring your existing mnemonics
3) Restoring individual wallet by private key
Unlike most other decentralized mobile wallets, we chose to give you the above three options for initial wallet setup.
After countless meetings and long debates, our team decided that although giving too many options in the initial setup may create a bad user experience, it actually allows for more flexibility and usability for the core functions of the wallet.
With Ringo Wallet, you can add multiple wallets with different mnemonics/private keys for the same currency. This means that you no longer have to delete and re-install or completely swap out your mnemonics in order to manage a different set of addresses that belong to different private keys or mnemonics.
Multiple Accounts for the Same Currency
Let’s take the ETH wallet for example. Let’s say you have initially set up your Ringo Wallet by creating new mnemonics. Your application would have the basic wallets set up with the BTC, ETH, LTC, ETC, BCH, QTUM wallets enabled.
In this setup, the below scenarios could happen:
- You used the ETH wallet that was initially set up by creating new mnemonics for some time. You’d like to restore another existing ETH wallet on the application, but still keep the initial wallet because you have been using it for a while and the two wallets are for different purposes.
- You are using the ETH wallet that was initially set up. You’d like to enable/access different ETH addresses within the same mnemonics instead of only having access to the first one.
- You are using the ETH wallet that was initially set up. You want to manage multiple ETH wallets with different private keys within the same application. You want to be able to check balances and withdraw from multiple ETH wallets.
For most other cryptocurrency wallets, you would have to either completely swap out your mnemonics or delete and reinstall your application to switch your addresses — even after doing this, you will only be able to manage one mnemonics or private key. This is because most wallets do not support management of multiple accounts with different mnemonics/private keys. There are some wallets that support this function, but our team made sure to provide a better user experience and simplicity in design for better usability.
With Ringo Wallet, you can satisfy all of the above scenarios with ease and high security. You no longer have to go to MEW or other cryptocurrency wallet websites or applications to manage other accounts. Instead, Ringo Wallet enables you to manage and add multiple addresses and wallets for the same currency in one application in the palm of your hand.
The GIF above shows an example of how you can add an additional ETH address from the same mnemonics you are using, and also add another ETH address from an individual private key that you own. After adding the addresses, you can click on the wallet to slide left and right through the multiple accounts you have added.
