Christmas — Gratitude
Big Thank You and Virtual Candles
A warm Christmas wish.
Christmas is drawing to an end where I am.
It might just begin for many of you.
Before this holiday ends though, I would like to take a moment of silence.
For gratitude.
And to honor each and every fallen soul this year.
A big heartfelt thank you.
To those who sacrifice their valuable time — time they could have spent with their loved ones, time they could have spent doing what they want on this special holiday.
Instead, they serve.
Workers working the grocery, supermarkets, shops selling gifts, restaurants.
Healthcare workers — doctors, nurses, cleaners. Each and every person doing their part, caring for others on this special day.
Delivery runners, ensuring everyone celebrates with enough food in their belly, drinks to quench their thirst.
In my culture and many others, food is love, and thanks to those who serve and run, there is no shortage of either.
Online shop workers, mail-wo-men — Amazon, DHL, UPS, a long list of courier services too many to mention. For ensuring everyone celebrating worldwide gets their presents, sharing joy despite the distance.
Everybody.
Everybody who ensures everyone has a smile on their faces and laughter in their throats on this jolly day.
A sincere heartfelt thank you, and a massive virtual hug to you wherever you are.
I would also like to light virtual candles.
Illuminating every chamber in every heart. Those who have lost, those who have been lost and missed this year.
Those who have left, those who are left.
May peace fills every space left vacant. May love flows into every nook and cranny, blanketing, warming every lonesome souls.
May joy — serenity — heals every broken heart, mend every broken spirit.
And for each and every soul — lost and found — I light a virtual candle.
May every flame, no matter how small, light your path, and leads you where you need to go — to happiness, to compassion, to love, to peace.
To all the good things in the world.
Thank you.
Yes, you, reading from the other side. Silently listening, connecting.
Thank you.
Thank you for being here. For celebrating this special day with me.
I am truly blessed.
And I am raising my glass to you.
Merry Christmas, beautiful souls.
