HBO SPORTS RECEIVES FIVE SPORTS EMMY AWARDS

Winners for the 38th Annual Sports Emmy® Awards were revealed last night in New York City.

HBO® captured five trophies.

Two of the sports division’s most acclaimed series — Hard Knocks and Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel –- combined to capture three Sports Emmy® wins for production excellence in 2016. The two series combined have now won 46 Sports Emmy® Awards (Real Sports 31; Hard Knocks 15).

Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel won for two segments from the 2016 season — Outstanding Sports Journalism, which the series has won 18 times, more than any other sports journalism television program — and for Outstanding Sports News Anthology, which the program has won in three of the past four years.
