He is on a roll again, from 25/8 to present Lyrikal has been consistent never dropping off or missing a beat since his entry into to Soca. What I liked about Lyrikal is that he understands his lane. His music is always different but he understands what he can manage and execute. Lyrikal understands his voice and he does not try to over do, even in his performances he understands that his music is groovy so its never ‘horse down’ or does he sing the songs like its ‘Power Soca’.

That’s one of my biggest pet peeves about some of the artiste in Soca, some don’t understand the melody in the music. Why sign a groovy song but in a live performance, your sounding like a rothweiler? I could never understand that analogy. Lyrikal among some of the other artiste sounds just as smooth as his studio productions so I like that he understands what he can execute.

This song was just the right range for him and beyond the music Lyrikal is an artiste that people just like so he has an unspoken trump card, so in all actuality he can sing anything and get through. However, his music is always good so he does not play on his personality.

This song depicts the short phrase ‘no kill joy’ and when you make a connection to good music nothing can kill your vibes. This song has all the ingredients for the pot of what we call Carnival. Good vibes, self enjoyment and it give us a purpose of being for us just to enjoy our existence. This song set us free for us to enjoy the music and to be honest that is what music should do. Music is a remedy for healing.

I liked the message in the music and the way it was executed. It wasn’t noisy it was just the right mix. It had a nice bounce followed by a flow of lyrics. His tone vocally is easy on the ears so that alone makes you want to hear more. Most of Lyrikal songs if not all always makes you want more, so you will find yourself playing it over and over as though your fix can never be satisfied.

As much as this is a groovy song, it was the right tempo, not too slow it was good enough for the fetes and a good bounce for the road which is very ‘facking’ important to me. Some of these songs are just good for radio and when played in fetes it falls flat of good vibes. Some of these songs cannot even transcend to the road and road its very important. Beyond being in the fetes and on the road this is music, good music might I add.

I was told by allot of producers and writers that 2017, we would have good music and from what I am hearing from these artiste, writers and producers are good music. The music is good, the best I have heard in a while. The music I guess had to dip for us to pull the slack and really deliver music that is worth listening.

Just when we over the recycling of lyrics, concepts and melodies or lack there of, we were graced with good music and this is a perfect example. So far Lyrikal is on a roll with his repertoire of music. The Brooklyn Boss is still standing they cannot fight him out.
