Voice — Far From Finished.

Its the quintessential of what we will describe as a creeper and since its release I am still listening and I am yet to get enough of this song. Racking up close to two hundred views on YouTube in a weeks time, I can safely say that this song has realistically connected with the people.

The concept of this song was about real life fused into song. Voice, as we would refer to him as is known for his lyrics that allows him to be different from the ordinary. He took risks in a time where the music and the demographic of people who are tuned into the music are currently changing therefore his approach by being different is obviously connecting.

The sound in his music is so different that its ‘mind blowing’ to the listeners. Each song, release from the young ‘Soca Monarch’ is so impressive each song he raises the bar even higher. Its obvious that his music is strategically planned with little room for error. His lyrics connects with the listeners because its sounds fresh omitting basic words such as ‘wine and jam’ etc.

Dared to be a game changer Voice took a new direction with the music with somewhat of conscious lyrics fused into the sound of Soca with a spin of reality. If you really look at the science behind the music in its entirety, this season the music that is actually connected or has been connecting with people so far are the reality tunes. Music that artiste actually share a moment in life or something that we can relate too or we saw in them in there transgression.

In this song my first listen for the first few seconds I was trying to understand the direction because the build up was slow nevertheless I continued listening. So I am here listening on giving my ‘toe tap’ to the song bouncing in time with the riddim as it played on…then in comes lyrics that raised my pores, pumped my adrenaline and got me excited at this point am now standing.

At 0:43 seconds into the song we got the first surprise with the line that resonated with every single person that listened to this song as he chanted…….’now jah jah bless me with the opportunity to fly country, now ah could drink champagne when ah tusty, now ah could see all the things ah never see, they say the San Juan so lucky, but ah thank the father and never me, now no bad mind boy they could stop meh, and every show ah smiling cause trust meh, life is lovely…..woii, and am far from finish’…..mind blowing lyrics, this is a hit without doubt are your seeing what I wrote?

Voice set the bar so high I am not sure how he is going to top this song. I know he topped ‘Cheers To Life’ but this has to be his best work yet and we are loving every second of this song. This is the result when artiste gives their every breath of life into the music. This clearly isn’t no hustle, this is life, this is his escape and we were fortunate enough to be carried along for this ride.

The influence of the story line in this song was real, it was modern, it was calypso and Soca in one. With content and captivating lyrics that connected us with the music Voice sold this song to us.

This is one heck of a first release and we ought to be proud of the direction of where the music is heading. As much as the lyrics were passively infectious we were able to dance, its feel good music in its true essence. Now Voice fell into a bracket not by default but by delivery where we expect only the best because of his repertoire its not our fault by the way its his….lol but its good vibes. This is exceptionally great music, this is Soca and beyond
