Limited release of the Trophy Truck next week
Hello warriors,
This is a brief update on some Wasteland developments and upcoming events. Next week, we will be releasing the Trophy Truck — the third vehicle in the mid-grade lineup. Some optimizations for the game engine and client will also be included in the release. In addition to that, we have significantly improved the Gas Alert bot and the account section of the website. However, some things, like crafting, are delayed due to the urgent performance fixes.
The Trophy Truck is finally here
The Trophy Truck, also known as a Baja truck, is a vehicle used in high-speed, off-road racing. The Wasteland version features a unique rear suspension with long tailing arms and no shock absorbers, which helps with handling on bumpy roads and allows for incredible jumps. A unique hydraulic device has been specifically designed by the Wasteland mechanics to absorb and dampen shock impulses from the rear end. The two built-in heavy-duty miners with giant cooling fans in the truck bed are always ready to mine some BZN.
Three types of Trophy Truck will be released initially, along with a base version on the bare chassis.
Game and anti-cheating optimizations
Some of the game optimizations and anti-cheating adjustments were pushed to the bottom of our to-do list in favor of the essential game mechanics and new content. We now realize that, due to the recent growth of our player base, these optimizations are now becoming a pressing issue. Some players reported significant FPS drops in certain areas of the Wasteland during the HD events. Unfortunately, the fixes are not easy, and we are working very hard to deliver these optimizations as soon as possible. We are hoping that some optimizations will be included in the upcoming release next week. Unfortunately, these optimizations are delaying the overall progress on crafting and other things that were planned for this summer.
Gas Alert discord bot
The Gas Alert bot is popular among the warriors. It provides the necessary information about the current gas prices and the dynamic BZN withdrawal cost. All of this info is just one command away. We recently added support for ETH and ERC20 transfers, along with the Uniswap transaction costs. You can now set alerts on many of these transaction types independently, and our bot will ping you when the price reaches the desired level. Try it!
Website improvements
The website now has an account section that separates your wallet info from the game account credentials. We noticed that there was some confusion around the “linking” and “connecting” the wallets, and we hope that this new interface will provide some clarity. “Connecting” the wallet always means establishing a temporary connection for the purpose of signing transactions. The connection often expires after some inactivity or when you end the browsing session.
On the other hand, “linking” your wallet always means associating your wallet address with your gaming account, which is something that you generally need to only do once when you create your account. “Linking” allows the game to read any public information from your wallet, such as what vehicle or weapon tokens you own, but it doesn’t allow the game to execute transactions on your behalf, so your assets are always safe. Under no circumstances does War Riders receive any information about your private keys.
What’s next
You will soon notice some cool additions to the Wasteland map and hopefully will be able to enjoy the game even more. The Immutable X integration is still a work in progress, but we will soon be announcing the launch dates! The events will keep happening on the same schedule. Even week — Saturday. Odd week — Sunday.
