The gameplay trailer, ephemeral nodes and “The Playground”
Get your popcorn ready, or whatever you’re into, warriors! The long-awaited alpha gameplay trailer is premiering Feb 24, 2022 along with an AMA, giveaways and more! In addition to that, we just launched a new test server, “The Playground,” in which anyone can test all vehicle types. The ephemeral nodes, liquidity program and garage sale are all queuing up and will be gradually released this winter/spring as planned.
In this blog post, we would also like to talk about some of the most exciting things that happened during the last few months, such as the Safe Zones with laser turrets, enhanced Wasteland Core intelligence that prevents overcrowded pumps and Coinmarketcap/Coingecko listings. A lot of stuff to go through, let’s dive in!

“The Playground” goes live today
Ever wanted to test all vehicle types before committing to a purchase? Now, you can! Simply pick “The Playground” from the launcher dropdown menu and hit Play! In the Playground, all vehicles and BZN are for testing purposes only. So, you wouldn’t be able to earn any BZN, initiate deposits or withdrawals or do any of the cool things you could do on the Main Server. The vehicles will be equipped with standard weapons. However, we will gradually be adding all weapon types to the test server. The leaderboard for this server is HERE.
“The Ephemeral Node” release
The ephemeral nodes are the pumps that don’t have a fixed location and can spawn in the random locations of the Wasteland. We hope that this update will ease the pain and make solo gameplay easier. The game will keep the stationary nodes, and the total distribution numbers won’t be affected. This system will make it nearly impossible to camp all the nodes in the game and should allow for more decentralized gameplay.
The Safe Zone and Enhanced Wasteland Core Intelligence patch went live in January
To improve spawn protection and reduce garage camping, we introduced the No Shooting zones with NPC laser turrets to guard the areas. This patch went live in January. Attacking in the Safe Zone puts a bullseye on the offender, and his vehicle will be destroyed by a laser beam. How cool is that?
In addition to that, the Enhanced Wasteland Core now detects node camping and shifts BZN distribution to less crowded pumps. Right now, this system starts working when it detects 3 or more vehicles in close proximity to the pump. The Wasteland Core will stop distributing BZN to the most crowded pumps and will prioritize the nodes that are not being camped. We are intentionally not disclosing the specific distance from the pump where the node camping is being detected as it may vary. This algorithm incentivizes players to keep moving and not stand in line for the pump.
More exciting things that happened recently:
- Benzene is now listed on Coinmarketcap and Coingecko. Like and add $BZN to your watchlists!
- We now have a Community Manager, Chris. Come say hi in our Discord and Telegram groups!
See you in the Wasteland!
