An Audition for the Ages

Max stared into the camera.

This was his big break and he was going to give this audition all that he had. He cleared his throat and went for it.

My name is Maximus Reynolds and I just want to thank you for this opportunity to audition for you today.

For the next several minutes, Max gave a passionate portrayal of Stanley from A Streetcar Named Desire, transitioning to his spot-on portrayal of Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver. He even danced a scene from Singin’ in the Rain as a final flourish.

As Max stared into the camera, he knew he had nailed it. He was finally getting his big break since moving to Los Angeles four years ago.

HONK!

Hey idiot! Get out of the middle of the road, you’re holding up traffic.

Max smiled up at the traffic camera on Hollywood and Vine and knew that he had just aced this audition.

Max proudly headed home to await his call-back!
