They stood ten feet apart on Hooper Bridge, eerily known as Suicide Bridge.

The cop and the teenager locked eyes. All he could say was,

please don’t jump; you must have something to live for.

It was too late; he watched helplessly as the police officer jumped 250 feet to her death.
