Hello all! We at WarwickTECH want to welcome you back to university and we hope you have had a lovely summer and are ready to join the vibrant university life.

WarwickTECH is back again with a jam packed 18/19 academic year full of tech events to pique your curiosity. This posts serves as an overview of all the events we are running in October that you should be on the look out for ;)

Upcoming Events in October

October 4th, Thursday: Future trends in AI with Dr. Felix Hovsepian

Dr. Felix Hovsepian has worked at the technical level (mostly R&D) as well as various levels of management within organizations. His experience crosses the realms of R&D, academia and the commercial sector. For this talk he’ll be discussing the future trends of AI in industry.

If you are at all interesting in the applications of AI in industry and how the technology is developing this is a talk is a must go.

October 11th, Thursday: Co-Launch with Incubator, Kickstart, Entrepreneurs & WFS

Welcome to the biggest society launch event on Campus this year! All 5 of the University’s Entrepreneurship related societies have teamed up to bring you a joint introduction to Entrepreneurship at Warwick, and trust us, you won’t want to miss out!

Entrepreneurship is relevant to everyone, all the time. You are all full of bright ideas (if not, we can fill you up with them!), and we want you to show you how you could take your ideas further with us. Education, Incubation, Technology skills, it’s all here for you!

October 18th, Thursday: Campus Startup

Have you already established a startup? Are you thinking of establishing one? Perhaps you just have startup ideas? Or simply want to chat and learn more about them? Then this event is for YOU!
Campus Startup is a relaxed networking session we run for students to meet each other and to talk about their startup concepts. WarwickTECH can also provide you with advice about your projects and this event will help you enlarge your network. You might just meet the business partner you needed!

October 26th, Friday: WarwickTECH at TechDay London

WarwickTECH is proud to be a part of London’s largest startup event. If you are looking for startups that are taking advantage of the bleeding edge in tech, then this event is definitely for you. The event is free and open to anyone so whether you looking for a job at an innovative startup or student looking to learn what the startup scene has to offer, there will be something at TechDay London for you. Make sure you pop by the WarwickTECH stand.

Upcoming Flagship Events

November 3rd, Saturday: Warwick Startup Day

Come to the Oculus at the University of Warwick for Startup Day. Startup Day is the biggest annual startup event organised by WarwickTECH and Warwick Incubator. This year the theme is “Disruptive Technologies in Startups”.

Startup Day 2018 is a half-day event which comprises of various speaker sessions, ranging from student to seasoned entrepreneurs, conducting talks and workshops that are designed to help participants get their start-up ideas off the ground, give them a sense of direction and inspire them to embrace new technologies in their startups.

December 1st, Saturday: Local Hack Day

Local Hack Day is a 12 hour mini-hackathon that brings together the local hacker community to celebrate building awesome technology. Omnipresently, other students around the world will be hosting their own Local Hack Days, resulting in the largest single day of student hacking ever.

February 23rd-24th, 2019: WarwickHACK

Pop on down to Warwick Business School for our flagship hackathon. WarwickHACK is Warwick’s official hackathon! WarwickHACK 2019 is a great opportunity to see how in 24 hours, ambition and passion added with a pinch of creativity can disrupt the world we live in.

March 7th, 2019: Tech Night LDN

Tech Night LDN is a mini-conference packed with talks, workshops and networking for students and recent graduates who are curious about technology hosted at The Shard in London. Expect an evening of inspiration and motivation. We believe that in order to truly make strides towards achieving diversity in tech, we need to include all genders and different races in the conversation.
