In two sentences or less, describe what you do at DES.

I set up machines to produce various sizes of envelopes for the state of Washington and surrounding cities — mostly for different agencies, including Department of Social and Health Services, Department of Licensing, Department of Revenue and many more.

How do you believe your role supports the DES mission of strengthening the business of government?

I get orders completed in a timely manner so agency mailings can be inserted and delivered on time.

In what ways do you experience DES values in your everyday work? (respect; integrity; excellence; diversity, equity & inclusion)

I enjoy the ability to produce the best product I can without the pressure to get the job done in a rush and make repairs as needed to make the best product I can. And my supervisor respects that.

I have been in the industry for 45 years, worked for one company for 25 years, and have had several other job opportunities to move to different parts of the country.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy riding my motorcycle around different areas of the west. I also like to camp in our fifth-wheel trailer. I also like to take my grandkids along with me and my wife.

What is a fun fact about you?

When I was young growing up in southern California, I raced motorcycles in the Mojave Desert, which brings back awesome memories.
