The Tuskegee Airmen (1995) Film

For #ThrowBackThursday Film Review The Tuskegee Airmen released in 1995 is one of those films that takes us back to a time when excellence was the status quo. My favorite part of the film is when the new recruits introduced themselves. The level of intelligence was inspiring. I won’t spoil the film but the cast alone will make you want to watch. Laurence Fishburne, Allen Payne, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Courtney B. Vance, Andre Braugher, Cuba Gooding Jr., Mekhi Phifer, Bennet Guillory, Vivica A. Fox, and Ron Hutchinson are excellent.

The Tuskegee Airmen film is a true story about the 332nd Fighter Squadron.

Miss Evers’ Boys film about the Tuskegee Experiment between 1932 and 1972 by the United States Government is another Laurence Fishburne film. A total of 600 black men were enrolled in the study that purposely infected them with Syphilis. The health departments told them they were receiving free treatment and health care. True story.

Happy Black History Month!
