Meet Vaida — The Instructor of the WaveMakers Program starting the 18th of April
Vaida is an experienced UX Designer & Researcher and a Design Mentor. She pivoted her career from Marketing to Design and has already mentored dozens of young professionals on their career paths. Vaida is passionate about applying 10 years of her experience in Design Thinking and Human Behavior Psychology to the WaveMakers Program. As a WaveMakers facilitator, she helps humans grow!

As one of the WaveMakers Instructors, I want to help people to own their own story and uncover it through the WaveMakers journey. What excites me to lead and instruct the sessions is when I feel the big “Aha” moments from our participants, hear vulnerable stories and little transformations inside out.
It might not happen the first week, but it will happen as an accumulation of small steps. One Wave at a time.
A bit about myself: I originally come from Lithuania, however since I finished school I took a journey living and building myself in Denmark, Canada, Spain, Sweden. Through all that exploration I started 2 startups myself (a magazine and a youth organisation), I switched careers completely (from marketing to UX), I freelanced, I worked in startups and corporates — so the path was never linear, always wavy, but interesting!
My overall mission and motto in life is to do what you truly like, not compromise on your dreams, contribute and add value to society around you and treat others just the way you want to be treated. Simple.
During the WaveMakers program I will be teaching the week 4 module: unconscious bias. I have studied Behavioural Design, constantly try to learn more about human biases and educate about it not only myself but others too.
If you know how people make decisions and shape their behaviours, if you are aware of how to notice micro and macro patterns around you — you can also shape and influence them, which is very important in leadership. I also try to apply multiple design thinking, mentoring, facilitation and communication learnings I have collected while being a designer, communicator and a curious human being.
