Introducing the Waves DAO testnet release

The Waves Association’s mission is to support the building of next-generation decentralized technologies with a high potential for sustainability and mass adoption. To ensure the most efficient interaction between its participants — professionals from various fields — a decision was made to use the DAO concept.
Today, we are launching the first version of this app built on top of the Waves blockchain, in the testnet, to enable the community to learn its mechanics. Users can access the website dao.wavesassociation.org with test data: a user will be able to see how the distribution of grants of several types (Disruptive Tech Grants, Web 3.0 Dev Grants, Interhack Grants) will be run, what participant roles and interaction types for association members are available. Checking out the available pages and the smart contracts that ensure their operation, a user will be able to study the details of the Waves DAO operation before its launch for processing actual grants.
In addition, the team decided to release the source code in line with the philosophy of decentralized apps. We invite developers and blockchain enthusiasts to study the source code of the smart contracts and the web app and use that for building their own DAOs, as well as leave feedback in repository issues.
Within a few months, the Waves DAO will be launched on the mainnet to be used for the distribution of the next batch of grants, with new mechanics. Details of this new grant program will be published at a later date. We are reminding you that a call for association members is still open: to become a member of the association and a DAO Member, which offers an opportunity to participate in grant distribution over the Waves DAO, you just need to fill out this form.
In the meantime, the DAO development team will continue improving the product, adding new functionalities to create a framework for decentralizing all operations of the association, rather than just grant distribution.
