In the last 3 months, the universe of Waves Ducks was rapidly growing and leaving all cosmology laws far behind. More than a thousand players started the journey to their own duck empire and more than 20 thousand are involved in the game promotion.

Our next move is mass adoption. To make the game even more popular, we introduce a new Ducks Improvement Proposal, which solves the two most important tasks — lowers the barriers to entry and makes the whole world quack from duck and EGG capitalization.

Meet baby ducks and duck wars!

Baby Ducks

A baby duck is a new gaming NFT asset with a 0.1 EGG price, which makes it affordable even if the token price grows up to $10k. Every baby duck has its growth rate, and initially, it equals 5%. You can increase it up to 100%, and then the baby duck will turn into an adult duck, into one of these available in the incubator.

You can grow your baby duck both with feeding or battling. You should do it every day, otherwise, the baby duck will lose 5% of growth rate daily. With food, you can grow your baby duck by 10% a day. The food price depends on a current duck price in the incubator:

Price of 1% growth = hatch price * 0.7 * 0.01

This way the players can grow a baby duck into an adult duck in 10 days, so the growth will cost 30% less than buying a new duck. This is the compensation for the waiting and risk of missing a day or two with losing some baby duck’s growth rate. For example, under the current hatch price of 3.5 EGG a player can grow a baby duck for 2.45 EGG.

In the future, we’re planning to add more growth mechanics through the referral program and social activities. And here comes the most interesting part of DIP-4 — the duck wars!

Duck Wars

To start a battle a player must choose one of its baby ducks, its Jedi duck, and challenge an opponent. The winner will get some growth percentage. Any of this growth percentage can be converted into EGG as a Jedi duck reward — the player can determine its share itself.

Three battle levels are available. On the 1st level your baby duck can win 2% growth rate, on the 2nd — 7%, and on the third, the most extreme one — a whopping 20%. But don’t forget that every battle has its loser, which loses the same amount of growth rate. If a baby duck’s growth rate gets down to zero, it dies.

The battles are turn-based. Every turn a player chooses what opponent’s part to attack and what part to defend — either head, body, or tail.

After both players choose the directions for attack and defense, the battle will begin. If a player doesn’t defend the part its opponent attacks within a turn, he loses 20 HP of the initial 100 HP. The winner is the baby duck who first decreases its opponent’s HP down to zero.

The rarity of the Jedi duck also impacts the battle. It gives an attack boost to the baby duck, and instead of standard 20 HP the baby duck can do more damage:

20 HP + 5 HP * Jedi rarity (expressed in a unit fraction)

The achievements of a Jedi duck let heal the baby duck and increase its HP in case of its successful defending move. The amount of the health restored depends on the rarity of the achievement.

The numbers of the Jedi ducks determine the battle winner if both opponents reach 0 HP during the same move. The baby duck of the Jedi duck with a smaller number, with the one who had been hatched earlier, wins.

We plan new battle boosts based on the generations and background colors. Moreover, we will probably introduce ducks’ weapons and ammunition. This will make duck wars even more unpredictable and breathtaking!

Jedi Scholarship

Waves Ducks Family is well-known for its mentorship, when the experienced players always try to help the newbies. Now the players can earn from it with our new mechanics — leasing their NFT ducks as Jedi.

Jedi owners can estimate the commission for the leasing. For example, if a baby duck wins a 20%-growth-rate battle with a 10% Jedi commission, it will grow by 18%, and the remaining 2% will go to the Jedi owner as EGG. At the DIP-4 launch, this equals 0,04 EGG.

A Jedi duck can be rented once per 24 hours (1440 blocks), and then it becomes available for leasing again by anyone.

The flexible battle mechanics not only gives extra value to the ducks, but also enables choosing between using ducks for either EGG farming or battles. A strong Jedi duck can bring a nice income. For example, if on average some baby ducks win 1 battle for a 20% growth-rate per day, with 10% Jedi commission and 0,02 EGG growth percent price, the daily income of their Jedi is:

0,02 EGG * 20 * 0.1 * 1 = 0,04 EGG, or 14,6 EGG per year

Nice Jedi salary, isn’t it? More than you can get with usual farming ;)

Technically, leasing a Jedi works as an NFT leasing: the token isn’t transferred to the leaseholder, it stays on the smart contract. This is a unique trustless leasing mechanic for NFT games.

The Ducks Awaken

Waves Ducks is not all about breeding experiments and DeFi. The new DIP turns it into a full-scale and profitable play-to-earn PvP game. And what’s most important is that the new baby duck mechanic lets everyone start their journey for just 0.1 EGG!

Happy new DIP, hunters! Get your ducks ready: soon they’ll prove their power in the Duck Wars!

Remember to join the Duck Hunters chat and subscribe to the Waves Duck’s Twitter to stay up to date on rounds of distributing EGG tokens for the promotion of Web 3.0 the Waves ecosystem.
