Each week we share with you some of our favourite tracks, either new releases or something we’ve never heard before. Luke is dishing them up this week:

The Hamburg duo are back with another slice of heavy electro, with their new album MIRAGE, which came out last Friday. It’s more of the same, which isn’t a bad thing. A little bit of French Touch, a little bit of Ibiza synth and half the song begging you to stick your hands in the air.

Considering the god that is Prince is no longer with us, it’s good to hear something that is basically Prince in his prime. Sparse beat, some heavy bass synth and Klyne trying their hardest to sound like Prince. But again, this isn’t a bad thing.

On to rockier climbs, Philadelphia’s Modern Baseball released another album of emotive grandness of the post-emo variety. They’ve gone a bit more Death Cab, a little less Dashboard, with a definite swing towards indie, but the new sound is great for summer.

With his debut album finally released last Friday, Oscar is set to take the UK back to the 90s. His sound bugs me, because I can’t quite figure out who he sounds like, but it’s perfect 90s style pop-rock. Good Things is a more chill affair, with slight reggae overtones that will go down a treat on a sunny afternoon.

That’s it, if you like what you hear sign up to Wax & Stamp and get two new records delivered to your door every month.
