Hot new shit I found this week

Each week we share with you some of our favourite tracks, either new releases or something we’ve never heard before. Its Luke’s turn and they actually all are new this week:

It’s hard to listen to Barns Courtney’s new track and not start stamping your foot. It’s a solid 3 minutes of Americana-fueled guitar pop, which sound like smoke-filled dodgy bars and whisk(e)y.

If Chromeo and Phoenix had a Norwegian disco baby, it would probably sound like this. I don’t know what the obsession is with tropical disco sounds in the Nordics (possibly what being covered in darkness for 6 months of a year will do), but whatever it is it works.

If experimental R&B is your bag, you might like a bit of Daniel Wilson. His latest offering is full of stuttering bursts and soul-drenched vocals, which feels quite Gnarls Barkley or a more experimental Cee-Lo.

A new track from the big man (literally) in UK soul. To be honest, you can put Rag’s voice over anything and it’ll sound amazing. The new sound is a bit more commercial, a bit less bluesy, but the production from Cadenza definitely adds swagger. It’s hard not to bounce when you’re listening

That’s it, if you like what you hear sign up to Wax & Stamp and get two new records delivered to your door every month.
