Meet Mary.

Mary is brand new to Chattanooga! She just moved down south from Boston a few months ago, and is already rolling up her sleeves to create a better city. Mary attended Texas Tech University where she double majored in Human Development and Russian Language Studies. At Causeway, Mary will spend the majority of her time working closely with the winners of our upcoming Causeway Challenge as they go through 4 months of idea incubation. In addition to her work at Causeway, Mary also works as a professional organizer, and yes, we are already reaping the benefits of that skill set.

Three questions for Mary:

What brought you to Chattanooga?
My friends invited me to Chattanooga in March 2014 for a weekend visit. After only a few days, I was convinced this city would be a great place to live life alongside other people who viewed the world in a similar way. In January 2015, I relocated here to be a part of the change that is happening in our city as well as the exciting things that are happening in the East Lake neighborhood!

What is your favorite spot in Chattanooga?
Currently my favorite spot is our front porch in East Lake. Because the trees are currently bare, we get to watch the sunset fall every evening over the hills! We have a table on our porch where we invite neighbors over to eat dinner, along with comfy seats to enjoy warm afternoons reading.

What is one surprising fact about you?
I speak Russian conversationally.
