Our yearly, city-wide Thanksgiving potluck was 2 weeks ago and we’re still hearing stories of connection, conversation and delicious food. 1Table was created to remove barriers and bring people together from across Chattanooga to get to know each other and build understanding.

We’ve heard feedback from many of you who met someone new (thanks to our ‘new friend photo booth’).

If you’re looking for more ways to connect with folks during the holidays (and beyond), here are a few ideas to get you started:

  1. Find a common thread. We have more in common than we don’t. Focus on the things we have in common and spark a conversation.
  2. Listen & ask questions. We can all be better listeners, right? Oftentimes we listen to respond instead of listening to connect.
  3. Follow up. Did you meet someone new at 1Table. Maybe you exchanged contact information? Follow up with them! There’s no better way to connect than following up and creating meaningful and authentic relationships.
